Discrepancies in recording patient bodyweight, as well as using inaccurate or inappropriate weighing equipment, can have a negative impact on patient care (Clarkson [37]). This can increase the risk of errors in diagnosis, interventions, treatment and/or medication dosage. Weight should be recorded in patients’ medical notes at the time the measurement is taken.
