Patient environment
Providing a safe, clean, comfortable area where patients can rest and recuperate can add to the patient's sense of wellbeing and is vital for maintaining health and promoting healing (Dubose and Hadi [53]). The area should be free from clutter, so that it can be properly maintained, cleaned and decontaminated, thus reducing the risk of hospital‐acquired infection (Cullen and Thomas [45]).
