Sight provides us with important sensory input to enable self‐care and pleasurable activities such as reading. Early diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and conditions can improve the course of vision impairment by either slowing the progression of the disease or conditions, or correcting the vision impairment itself (National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine et al. [141]).
