Post‐procedural considerations
Immediate care
It is important to ensure that any intravenous cannula used to administer a contrast medium is removed post‐procedure. If the patient required sedation, cannula removal, post‐sedation monitoring and observations will be required. Patients who have had a sedation or anaesthetic will need to be accompanied home by a relative or other responsible adult (Chernecky and Berger [32]).
