Monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) were introduced to clinical practice in the 1980s and play a vital role in a variety of treatments and clinical interventions including cancer, inflammatory disease, organ transplantation, cardiovascular disease, infection, respiratory disease and ophthalmological disease (Suzuki et al. [344]).
