Intraoperative care
Definition
Intraoperative care encompasses the following three phases: induction of anaesthesia, surgery and finally recovery. This phase of care begins when the patient arrives in the anaesthetic room or operating theatre and ends when the patient is transferred to the post‐anaesthesia care area, where immediate post‐surgical care is delivered to the patient.
