Arterial cannulas
Definition
An arterial cannula is a plastic tube inserted and secured in a peripheral or central artery. They are most commonly used in intensive care units and during surgery to provide the means for continuous intra‐arterial pressure monitoring and facilitate frequent blood sampling for blood gas and laboratory analysis (Koh et al. [247]).
