Indications
Indications for wound cleansing include the following:
- to remove debris and foreign bodies following a traumatic injury
- infected wounds, to remove excess exudate and manage malodour
- to remove superficial devitalized tissue or residual dressing material
- to provide patient comfort (Lloyd Jones [63]).
