Breast diagnostics
Definition
Reliable assessment of breast symptoms and diagnostics is expected to be a rapid, triple‐modality approach comprised of clinical (or physical), radiological and histological components. Established good practice dictates that breast diagnosis is completed by a multidisciplinary team. The aim of triple assessment in a rapid setting is to ensure quick referral to oncological teams for treatment, if cancer is diagnosed, but also to promptly reassure patients when they do not have cancer (ABS [6], Aebi et al. [2], NICE [106], NICE [113]).
