Post‐procedural considerations
It is important that the nurse monitors the patient for signs of discomfort and administers any analgesics required. Vital signs should be recorded regularly, at least every 1–2 hours initially and then 4 hourly. Observations should include signs of infection, headache and raised intracranial pressure (Scurr et al.
