Post‐procedural considerations
To ensure safe disposal of waste, it is important that if there is leakage around the drainage site or a drainage bag is attached, nurses must remember that the fluid may still contain the cytotoxic drug and should therefore take the same precautions as when handling any cytotoxic waste.
