Radiation
Definition
Radiation occurs when energy is emitted or generated as either waves or particles (known as electromagnetic or particulate radiation). Radioactivity is a natural phenomenon in which unstable atoms emit radiation. In stable atoms ionizing radiation is produced through excitation, ionization and nuclear disintegration. Radiography is the practice of using X‐rays to produce an image on film (Ionising Radiations Regulations [34]).
