Definitions
End of life care is recognized in much of the literature as care delivered to those patients who are deemed to be in the last year of life. Prognosis in some diseases is not always straightforward, however it is important to afford patients and their families the opportunity to plan for the future when advanced incurable disease has been diagnosed (DH [8]).
