Access / Edition Control
Is access to the Tenth Edition automatic?
Yes, if you are a continuing subscriber your staff will have immediate access to the Tenth Edition, using the same access route and authentication methods as before. The Tenth Edition also allows login via username and password.
Can staff continue to access the Ninth Edition?
Yes, staff will continue to have access the Ninth Edition for a limited duration of the Ninth Edition, providing you are a continuing subscriber. Access to the Ninth Edition is via the 'View ninth edition' link on the top of the home page. The background will appear pink to indicate this information has been superseded by the more recent Ninth Edition.
Is it possible to delete a clinical guideline from the Manual?
No, it is not possible to delete a clinical guideline. If you prefer staff not to use a particular procedure for any reason, you may add a comment to that procedure indicating that it is not to be used. If you wish to refer them to another procedure instead, you may add a link to that procedure within the comment either as a link to a file on your intranet or to a website URL. You may also attach your own procedure as a file attachment if you prefer.
Transferring your own content from the Ninth Edition to the Tenth Edition
How do I transfer our Trust's added clinical guidelines from the Ninth Edition to the Tenth Edition?
Your added clinical guidelines have been transferred already and will be clearly identified on any page in pink.
What if our own transferred clinical guidelines are no longer current?
If any are no longer current, you may delete these.
How do I transfer our own added comments on procedure guidelines from the Ninth Edition to the Tenth Edition?
This process cannot be automatic as the Manual content will have been restructured. The transfer of comments will require you to open the Ninth and Tenth Editions simultaneously and cut and paste any comments that are still relevant to the corresponding procedure guideline in the Tenth Edition.
This a good opportunity to review the comments in the context of the new procedures and see if they are still current.
